Since time immemorial, the Sky Rift has unleashed demonic chaos upon the mortal world. Shangguan Ziyan, a young demoness, and Yuanchu, a Taoist priest, are brought together by fate. As the two No.9 Hunters, they set out on a journey to mend the heavens. Ziyan is afflicted with the Stone Curse, which constantly reverses her yin and yang, shifting her between male and female. Yuanchu, meanwhile, is bound by a cruel fate: whom he loves shall perish. Through all their encounters with humans and demons alike, they come to realize that only their love can serve as the thread to patch the sky and save the world.
